Fish Toys

Hello all!

I know some fish will move plants or punch holes in them for fun, bubblers are supposed to be entertaining for them (channelling Finding Nemo -- BBUUUUUUBBBLLLEEESSS). Petco.com even advertised a plastic toy that was suposed to bob along the to of a tank for fish to pull down and relase to float back up (they got some poor reviews, supposed would get gummed up quickly and wouldn't float anymore), and now has a bobblehead gargoyle with moving wings.

Has anyone had any experience with items (plants, decorations, etc) that their fish have enjoyed 'playing' with?

Thanks,
Drag

:P Very true!

I just think fish (well any animal) are smarter than we think.

My betta seemed so much happier when I updated his tank to include more plants and a snail. Instead of harrassing the snail he would follow it everywhere just watching it.

Most animals are smarter than humans anyway.

:D No kidding! I have yet to trick one animal to feed me, pet me, and let me sleep all day while they work and pay the bills!

My fish like the bubbles alot... At least that's what I think that they think, they might just be trying to breath in strait air in hopes of growing some sort of evolutionary foot so they can escape from my tank...

Not sure....

And right on with the fish owning the relationship comments... All I do is give, give, give to those fish and they NEVER give me anything!

One of my gold sevs likes to pick up my apple snails and drop them elsewhere in the tank, it's really funny to watch - and I'm sure he just does it out of badness

I've heard about ping-pong balls being used before with oscars.
