Filter question?

I recently bought a 35 gallon tank, and light fixture plus filter. My question is I went to a pet store where they sell used equipment, and all they had left for used filters was an Aquaclear 70 hanging filter. And this filter is really made for a 70 gallon, but I took it anyways. Will this cause any problems with my new tank? I don't see why, but I just thought I would ask.

No, there shouldn't be any issues......the Aquaclear filters have flow adjustments so you can decrease the flow for the smaller tank if necessary.

Congrats on an excellent purchase! I'm a big fan of the Aquaclear HOB filters as unlike cartridge HOB filters, WE can control to type and volume of media for filtration.

In addition to adjusting to provide for re-filtration and less flow through, in addition to the AC70 impeller, you can use an AC20, AC30, AC50 impeller in the AC70 filter for reduced flow. (I have one AC70 now filled completely with Seachem Matrix/De*Nitrate bio-media mix using an AC20 impeller for slow flow).

Yeah, I agree. I recently purchased one strictly as a back up in case my canister ever fails. I can grab the biological media out of the canister and throw it in the customizable tray in the Aquaclear.
