OK, so what if I had 5-6 angels and some swordtail? Basically my problem is my husband wants us to have some nice big fish to look at, and we both like angels. My favorite fish of all time to keep are swordtails so I wantedto incorporate them in there too. If that is possibly how many would I be able to add in say a group of 6 angels?

The group of 6 angelfish is fine. But I would not mix swordtail with angelfish. The angelfish is a slow, sedate fish; it prefers to cruise among branches and plants in a small group. Swordtail on the other hand are more active swimmers. If you read our profile of the swordtail, it mentions not combining this fish with sedate fish for this reason. Angelfish can be "annoyed" by such activity, and that causes stress which weakens the immune system... etc.

In our profile for angels [Pterophyllum scalare] it mentions suitable companion species. That should give you some ideas, and then check those profiles for photos.

I have a Raphael catfish that is about 5 inches. I want to put him in this tank also.He has been housed with Swordails, Angels, Plecos,Tetras, etc so he is pretty peaceful. So how about the 6 Angels, the Catfish, and about 4 Dojo loaches?

You do come up with the oddities. I'm not too up on the dojo loach, but from what I have read it is a cooler water fish, buries itself in the sand a lot, and grows to at least a foot.
