does natural slate stone change parameters??

I have some left over natural slate stone that I used to make a habitat for our Leopard Gecko. If I stack this in the freshwater tank, to create a hide/deco, will it harm or change the water? I will boil first of course.

Thanks

Gwen

never boil rocks. You can bake it IF you want. Regular slate though does not have any effect of the aquarium.

Nope, I've got tons of the stuff in my tanks.

Even in my 2.5g tank, I don't see any influence from the slate rock on water parameters. So I shall also add to the confidence that it will not bother anything.

Slate is great for aquariums, doesn't change water parameters, I wouldn't boil it tho
