For the 1st coupla to a few weeks, I didn't have this issue.
But I think the suction is making it really difficult to remove my media baskets. So difficult that I cannot get them out without beating the crap out of my canister. 1st basket has nothing but sponges, 2nd has a small amount of ceramics and the 3rd has bio balls and a layer of sponge.
i have a couple that stick in the filter body. I "walk" them out. Basically I put my hands in the canister, backs facing each other, and I put outward and upward pressure on each side, alternating.
As for separating the baskets from one another.... what kind of filter is this?
I can separate the baskets just fine. It's getting them OUT of the canister. And I can't really fit my hands between the body/baskets. It's a really snug fit.

This Monday will be water change day. So I'll attempt to play with it more. I don't think I tried wiggling it...though you'd think I would of.
Yeah, I find that the bottom basket can be very difficult to remove. The handle can come loose - I've found that applying force to specific areas will keep it in place - gotta play with it some. What I explained is how I get them out - sometimes in conjunction with using the handle, sometimes not.
:-( where did you buy the filter from ?
if from a store,i would ask them about it,tell them about how much trouble
you're having, even if you bought it on line, someone must be able to sort
it out,it's a nightmare...i'd be really frustrated.
I bought it online, from an Ebay seller. It really does frustrate me.
I've tried a coupla things today. I removed the ceramic media and didn't snap the baskets together. Hopefully, next week they'll be easier to remove
I removed the ceramic media because I thought it maybe adding weight.
Today's water change was 2 days later than it should of been. So the tank will be fine until Monday(normal water change day) and I may re-add the ceramics.
It's also sitting in a cup of water so the BB should hold fine.
glad to hear this, there's is nothing worse than when things don't
work how we know they should.
