Coverting a saltwater tank to a freshwater tank!

I just purchased a used 90 gallon aquarium. The tank was used for saltwater but i am going to use it for freshwater. and old fish friend of mine once told me to soak the tank over night in vineger water?

How much vineger should i use?
I won't be completely setting the tank up for about three weeks or a month. I have to build a stand for it. Is it ok to sit empty for that long or is there another way to store it until then.

No need to soak it that long, just clean it with hot water & vinegar (use amount of vinegar as if it was cleaner solution's) put it on a sponge and scrub down the tank (don't use the scrubby side of the pad, that can cause scratches on the glass). I'd say this size tank maybe like 1-2 cups full vinegar. You can use more if you like, won't do no harm.
Just rinse it all out good with hot water afterward, let sit and dry for 1 day (ideally outside to allow the sun to dry it out good & well, plus your hosue won't smell like vinegar, being in FL that shouldn't be no problem for you.

Then you're ready to roll and set it up. Just in case: Do not reuse the filter media from the salt tank, but new ones.
