hi
i know you've given it a good clean……have you double checked the impeller
for cracks ?
you can pick one up pretty cheap i think from ebay.
if you bought it new…are you still in warranty ? if so take it back.

Always a good suggestion when something isn't working right. Although for me it's usually out of frustration.

You check the hoses? Is the output clogged? An abstraction in the intake? Perhaps at the quick connect?

Also check to make sure it's not airlocked sometimes they will trap an air bubble in the can an it will reduce flow.

Yup - give the filter a little rock back and forth and see if air comes out the outflow.

Yes, yes check all the things listed. Make sure the impeller is free moving, no bars broken or cracked on it. I have indeed smacked and rocked my canister filter.... it has no primer to start it ... ya really old!!!! so that is the only way to start it up sometimes or to get the rattles out of it. Make sure the cover plate over the impeller has not lost it's locking tabs too. Make sure it's seated and locked over the impeller.

Keep us posted on what you find.
