Canister Filter

I have a 38 gallon aquarium and in the future I would like to upgrade to a canister filter.
Is there one that is pretty much dead silent and would work on that tank size?
Thanks

There are many that fit your criteria. Most people recommend what they themselves use. I have 12 from 5 brands - the Rena XP filters are the best, but the sunsun filters (on ebay) are the best for the money. Fluvals come in third.

125 - BGK, chanchito cichlid, pictus cats, silver dollars, palmas bichir
125 - cichlids (severums, bolivian rams, chocolate), rainbows ( turquoise, red), loaches (angelicus, zebra, kuhli and horseface), plecos (BN, RL and clown), denison barbs, tiretrack eel, pearl gouramis, betta
90 - Congo tetras, african knife, upside down cats, spotted ctenopoma, kribensis, delhezzi bichir
2.5 - betta

really, it's like asking which car manufacturer to buy from - many people have strong brand loyalties.

Even the quietest HOB is loud compared to a canister. I am not familiar with that brand of filters, though. IME noisy filters can quiet down over time.....or maybe you just don't notice it anymore...

To me there is no question about it. I always love when people comment on how clean and quiet my fish tanks are.
