Well i just bought one this morning, walked down to the pet store. Now i have two filters that pumps 100 gallons per hour. So simple maths mean i get 200 gallons per hour filtered. One filter has a bio-wheel and one doesnt. THey both have filterfloss bags with activated carbon inside them

ive noticed them stop turning but i have an air pump in the filter area which makes the water level raise and puts more water on the wheel causeing it to spin. If it still doesnt work i might go for a different one

Personally I think the bio wheel is great marketing. They clutter a tank. Regular tank maintenance will beat out any performance by any filter. I see people online that swear by their biowheels, I've never actualy met someone that likes them.

I'm not sure how long that will last. I don't own one, but I read allot of people with experiences with the Penguin filters. As the biowheel gets older, it will tend to slow or even stop spinning. The biowheels turn around via the water from the output flow.
