Thank you all for your help. It is much appreciated. I have purchased almost everything at Petsmart and a few items at Petco. I don't think our Walmarts sell fish or at least not much in the way of fish.

There are two other Fish stores in this area that I have been to so far. I think their might be a third that I have not yet been to. One of the ones I have seen is almost all saltwater and the other... I am not sure about the care of the fish yet. I can't judge yet, I was only there one time and I know nothing about fish. Hopefully this week I can make it to the third Fish specialty store. I have heard good things about them.

Well, not all LFS are created equal that is for sure. I was so very impressed with this last place that I went to. Every single tank was beautiful and seemed well maintained. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and not at all pushy. Prices were high, but when it comes time to purchase fish, I will be going there. The fish looked to be in much better health so to me, saving a buck and getting a sick looking fish, doesn't make any sense.

Now I just have to stay busy in research mode rather then trying to clean my tank to death while it cycles. Thanks Bettababy for that info. While I wait I might buy a few more silk plants. I am not ready to change everything before I even get fish and I had decided to go with plastic, thinking Cichlids would kill the real plants. My tank just needs more. Also, I am going to be looking for more caves, flower pots, rocks to decorate my tank. If I wait long enough, I won't have room in my tank for anymore fish and I will have to just be satisfied with the three Tiger Barbs. ha ha

Thanks again to all of you for your helpful suggestions. It is much appreciated.

best place to shop

I think the best place to shop is bigalsonline.com In addition to everything else, they have a lot of repair/replacement parts for filters that you can't get from other places. The shipping is a little high but worth it for the parts.
I have found that my cichlids usually won't bother java fern.

As far as supplies go, I get everything at petco.com. They have most of the important supplies on there, but no matter what time of the year you go on, there is always a sale. Plus they offer free shipping on almost everything. Fish on the other hand I always get from the LFS, petco and petsmart fish look like their going to die in less than a week :( .
