acrylic vs. glass tanks

i have a 5g hex thats acrylic, and its been just fine for 3 years now. i scratched it a couple times getting rough cleaning it but really being smart about it isnt a big deal.

they make acrylic tanks in all shapes and sizes, not just bow fronts and waves. my girlys uncle has a 40 something gallon bow front that leaked... but im sure thats not the norm, and really glass is cheap.

glass is cheap, easy to clean, resealable/rebuildable, and did i mention cheap? hell with all the money ive saved buying glass instead of acrylic i could get me a house keeper. not really. :P

okay everybody to set the record straight here, if you had 12 kids in your house every day, you would need a housekeeper, too. and after working a 10 hour day with 12 kids, I deserve a clean house and a bed that's made : )

and to balance out the housekeeping expenses, i'm going to buy a SECOND-HAND GLASS cheapo lol

yeah, 99% of cleaning appliances that work on glass work on acrylic, but some things, like some brushes are just too harsh, and at petco for instance they sell glass AND acrylic versions. Not a big deal just make sure its acrylic safe.

and i wouldnt be 100% on using windex on acrylic either, just FYI
