I have a 55g with a center brace on top. I bought two versa tops @ 24" a piece, but neither side will fit due to the center bracing. They are both about a millimeter long. Anyone had this issue before? Dont really want to cut into the brace to make them fit...
I bought some for mine once and they were too short buy if yours are too long I would take them back and try a different brand. Don't cut the middle brace as that is there to help brace the tank and you may have problems with the glass bowing later on down the road.
I bought my tank used, and it had those on top and they also were too long, so I went online and found out that glass lids fit. I then bought a 48" long light to go over it, instead of two separate lights. I found mine on Amazon, and also saw them on Ebay. My LFS also carried them, but it cost less buying off the internet. Just be careful and read the size, you want the ones that are a bit smaller than the 24". Measure the size of your top first before you start looking. Hope this helps.
