Saying goodbye to my Rainbow

This morning was strange. I was actually chatting with a few members here on chat and I noticed my Gourami moving about. I then saw something sort of bobbing about near the bottom and thought it might be a dead leaf from the Amazon Sword. Upon closer inspection I was very sad to see it was my dear Rainbow Shark. He was nose down and the bottom and his once striking black against the red tail and fins was now a light Grayish/white. I removed him and did a good clean out of the tank. I checked water first and the parameters were fine. Not even an ammonia spike like I suspected might be there.

I will likely never know what happened to my little guy. He was a few years. It is never easy to say Good Bye. I feel extra sad that I was never able to catch a really good picture of him. He was quite shy and spent a great deal of time hiding in his log. Whenever I did see him swimming about, I was in awe of his beauty.

Rest in Peace Rainbow

And in his private cave

RIP fishy. Inga mom cared a lot about you because she kept that unsightly log in her tank so you wouln't miss your chill spot :) :)

That is so true. It was all for him. Admittedly, it was jerked out right away after... :( I don't miss the log, but the fish, yes.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.
