RIP Borris

Well today I went over to the boss' house to take care of the his wife's Koi. They are in FL at their winter house so I have been taking care of all their Koi, which is kept in their basement during the winter then placed in their pond once it gets warm enough.

Well today I went over there, I heard them splashing when I started down the stairs, I was cleaning the filters, then went to feed them and Borris (my favorite) was swimming oddly. I tested the water, everything was good. But when I threw in the pellets I notice he wasn't able to grasp them he was almost like blind when going for the food, he would miss it. Then about ten minutes later he was belly up. So I buried him in her flower garden next to the pond. So he will still be with his friends.
Even though he wasn't my fish I grew fond of him and the others. I have cared for them every winter for the past 3 years. Borris was well over 2 feet long.

Here is a photo of a Koi that looks exactly like him.

I am not to sure I would have to ask the boss' wife how old he was. He had to be over 3 years old.
