Random Peru Gold Stripe Corydora Death :(

I heard a ruckus in the 20 gallon tank last night. You know how Corys will swim around quickly, zoom to the surface, take a gulp and zoom away again? Sounded like one of them hit the glass tank cover quite hard.

Poor little guy. He was beautiful. It made me very sad to see him dead this morning. :(

Today I went out and picked up three itty-bitty, teeny-tiny Peru Gold Stripe Cory babies for the tank. I noticed that since the untimely death of one of my adults, the other three remaining Corys became even more reclusive and only came out of their hiding area at night.

The three new babies are not shy at all and have been inspecting their new home. They also went and found the three adults pretty much immediately and snuffled them. Here's hoping with the six of them in there now those three remaining Cory will feel a bit more secure and venture out during the day.

And I gotta say, baby Gold Stripe Corydoras are soooooooooooooooo cute!!!
