What kind of fish is this?

I bought a tropical freshwater tank off a neighbour, and a few months later I found that one of the fish had given birth to three babies. Two of them have died off, each looking similar to this one and I have absolutely no idea what kind of fish it is. My neighbour didn't mention what kind of fish the mother was and I do not know what kind of fish the father was either. Since then they have both died off.

My fish are kept in a 33 litre tank at approx. 24 degrees celcius with a PH of about 6.6. The fish in question has been with me for about a year and is about two centimetres in length. It shows no signs of physical illness and eats normally. My neighbour has since moved away and we do not keep in contact and therefore I have no way of asking them.

Any ideas? Thank you!

btw sorry my pictures are so blurry, my camera wasn't very good... :-?

From the pics. it is a bit hard to tell, possibly could be a platy or guppy. When you say "gave birth", to you know if it literally was a live birth of fry as in Livebearers such as guppies, platies, swordtails & Mollies or did they lay eggs?

One suggestion would be to look through the Tropical fish profiles on this site, in particular the Livebearers first, to see if they resemble your fish. If it is one of the Livebearers, they would benefit from a higher PH.
