Depends on what you mean by "best" to breed. Do you mean the most people want to own them so there is a market for the fry? Do you mean, easy, just toss them together and wait for the fry to show up?
Places to sell them?

Most people want to own them because of the market I would think, I really don't care

Many cichlids are very interesting because most provide brood care, but most if not always the parent fish can't raise the fry in captivity, my personal favorite is the German Blue Ram or Microgeophagus Ramirezi. We need to know your tank size water parameters, etc.

Guppies and Bettas are fantastic breeding projects!
You can go for feeder guppies, or Fancy guppies.
Theres also many different tail types in the bettas.

You can also do Swordtails, Platies, Gourami, ect. Theres a market for most community tank fish.

From what I've read, breeding gourami and breeding bettas are quite similar.
