The ones I have heard of being bred were done kinda like cories but a lot more watrer changes and water paramemters that have to be pristine. I do know of a couple instances, my wife being one, where they just bred, no explanation why. I think it would be similar to the other fish that are "supposed" to be impossible to breed but just take a little effort to duplicate what they need. A sole diet of live food is supposed to work and water changes 2-3 degrees cooler than the tank done 10-15 times a week is supposed to help.
Honestly I would just be glad to be able to keep them alive.
If you want egg layers, killifish, cories, danios
Live bearers: my fav is swordtails just because of how easy they are and their color variations; platties, mollies, guppies are all pretty easy to breed. Jst watch out because platties and swords will interbreed and so will mollies and guppies. If you have this happen you might not want to sell them, if you planned on it anyway.
