Well, the gold dust seems to be over her trouble. Haven't checked her yet today, but at lights out she was happy as can be.

Ah, my ranshorns should get here today. The seller said to check your weather to make sure temps don't go below forty...so I did. Said 50's and 60's for the next four days so I ordered them. Two hours later I checked again since it wasn't warming up as fast as it usually does, and they said SNOW the next day and a high of 25 degrees. I almost died. But then yesterday it did NOT snow, nor did it get below forty degrees. However, it snowed overnight. T_T I hope they'll be ok. They changed the bloody forcast like six times on tuesday! I was so sure I had it all covered properly. >< So well, obviously I'll be sitting on the windowsill watching for them so they don't sit in the cold, I think I will NOT put them in to float for the first hour, but let them acclimate to the house temp first and then float and drip them.

Wish them luck, that was a terrible mistake to happen! I'm hoping, even though the snow is wanted at this time, that it will all melt and be warmer today. Fat chance, eh? Currently it's 16 degrees, windchill is 5 degrees Fahrenheit with the high, so they're saying, of 25F today. Yeah sure, I believe them after all the flipping around when weather like this shoulda been more than obvious well before it was, I hope it gets hot. x.x

Ah, see? They changed the high to 22 degrees within seven minutes. ;_; Can't predict the weather for real, I guess, you can just make educated guesses that change every few minutes. -sigh-

Well, I figure they woulda been fine if they had gotten here when they were supposed to(it being a 2-day priority mail and all and this being the second day. Would have been two and a half days by the time our mail finally gets here, people need to start using UPS as their main sending unit again, they're on time), but they didn't arrive. They just got to Denver from Washington at 9:42pm, so they'll arrive probably around 3-6pm today. This sucks.

I hope they make it, went out and got the stuff they need. Got some cuttle bone for their calcium, some good algae wafers. Saw a Dinosaur Bichir for sale, he looked to be about 2.5 inches or so. Freakin cute. >>; I was tempted but they get huge and are too aggressive for my fish. lol He was $2.99 so I was tempted. They have a face like a lizard and go about on their fins, they're too cool. I thought they'd cost hundreds of dollars. Glad common sense kicked in. While I was talking to the lady there about facts and stuff, we both agreed I shouldn't go buying something because it's cool when I don't know much about them, esppecially not in this case. But they are so cool. If I ever get a 75 gallon tank, I'll consider one then, 55 gallons is, as the lady there agreed, a bare minimum to survive, not a comfortable minimum. lol

lol I wanted to be prepared! I caught up on research to be sure I was set for them other than stuff I'd need to buy like food and cuttle bones for calcium. I may be an impatient spazz, occasionally caught up in bad ideas and such I tend to dismiss quick as I get them...but I do my research. :3 And the weather was right for the next couple days when I ordered them...but then it changed. T______T I'm so upset about it! I couldn't sleep last night, had a dream they dropped off the box in the middle of the night and they were frozen solid. I'll just die if that happens. I remain hopeful that they'll be ok, seeing as they spent the night in doors, moved to the city next to us this morning and should sit there until about 1-2 hours before they come this way. Our mail lady is really good, she keeps an eye out for "Live" mail and does what she can to keep them comfy. She brought my endlers in her shirt last time, but it wasn't this cold. ^^;

Or were you talking about the Dinosaur Bichir? He was so COOL! >>; I really did almost slip, but I had to walk away, my tank is just not big enough, and he'd eventually eat my guppies and platies I bet. lol And he'd be uncomfy in there no matter how pretty I make it, not enough space for an 18 inch critter to properly turn around.

Speaking of my endlers, I ordered five and got six. Every last one is thriving and healthy thus far, they got brighter colored within days of arriving, and are now chasing the girls. lol I'm hopeful my snails will get here just as fine. I'm afraid to even take a nap, even though our mail lady will likely ring the bell for us, she always does when we get packages that say they have live animals. Still, I've been sitting by the window reading. ;D

I'll let you guys know how it goes when they get here. Eesh, just hope I have good news!

The snail-cicles got here. They were COLD, poor things. But a few minutes after I put the bag on a lightly warm pad(one of those plastic pet pads that get 1-2 degrees warmer than room temp) they started coming out to see wth was going on. lol Thankfully came with live plants, so they had some air, I suppose, maybe food. =( MOST of them look alright, they're still acclimating right now. I had them in room temp for about an hour and gave them fresh air, floating them now with a drip. Most came out to say hi, but unfortunately several have broken shells. I expected that when I saw the package. A lot of them lost the front of their shells, the package got a bit roughed up which surprised me - it said live animals and fragile in huge bold, bright letters all over it. =-= So they survive the cold, so far...but will their shells ever repair? Most look ok, but there are several whose shells were hanging off on the front around their face. The rest of their shells miraculously look ok in the main body.

I guess we'll see within a few days if they make it, but so far it looks promising for most. That shell will grow back with good care if they do survive, right? @_@

Yeah, I contacted her about it. Three ended up dying, I haven't checked since the day before if anymore have though. I ended up in Urgent Care last night, and they sent me to the ER from there. Got the flu(the evil testing device they stick up your nose was freakin awful!), hadn't slept for a couple days or kept anything down, thought I was gonna die. They could NOT get the IV in. Oh how I hate needles, that was awful. Oh, they tried, but it just wasn't happening. I ended up on a bunch of meds and being sent home after signing a thing against treatment, which...well, if they can't get the darn thing in, I can't really help it. Meds made me feel better though, got about six hours of sleep, got re-hydrated a bit too. ;D

Wow, meant to give you more info. lol When I contacted her she told me what to do and offered more snails. However, instead of sending me the 12 I purchased, she sent me more than 20(counted 23, but there were probably more). Checked on them today and fed everyone. I think...it was three or so days since I even turned on the lights, I've been just so sick! Unfortunately in that fiasco I lost an endlers guppy female and my last shrimp. T_T My cherry shrimp was doing so good, I was going to purchase her new buddies if she survived another month, but she died, and so did my last ghost shrimp. I just can't seem to keep shrimp, so I wont bother anymore.
