Anywho...well, my frogs are at it again. I hadda film it, it was funny. He just can't hold on! But the funniest part was the female was tapping her foot as if she were listening to music and trying to ignore her hitch-hiker. lol Her annoyed and saying get off or die...and she did kick his butt. Haha. He's still trying though, poor guy. His being so persistent is what the girls want though.

HAHA! That's SO funny! And terribly cute - can't help but feel sorry for the poor guy! I hope his dreams come true one day - and yours of TADDIES!

Just thinking about raising tadpoles again makes me extremely excited.

Ah, oh yes. I managed to save my nursery. Got the yuck cleaned up without sending the tank into a cycle, got the oxygen back in...the only reason any of them survived at all I think is because of all my plants. Yeah, nice back up me. Whew. x.x

Well hey, guess what I found? I found one of my baby mollies still hanging on. I scanned the whole tank for an hour earlier to make sure nobody had any injuries, nobody looked sick or was dying, and for dead babies and my MOLLIES! Well, I found one when I went to feed them, didn't find him when I was looking though. The poor thing looks like he's still feeling the effects and is a bit wobbly. I'm worried about that. But I have found one. I am hoping he pulls through, and I am also hoping to find more of them soon. The tank itself is back to normal, but I certainly didn't expect the ones left to SEEM fine. No doubt many are NOT as fine as they look, going a whole night with very little oxygen and filth explosion. x.x
I'm sure we'll know how they are in a couple days. Everyone seems just fine but that little wobbly molly baby, all cute and hiding in the plant by itself. That makes me feel bad, if its siblings are all gone, he's the only molly in that tank. Ah yes, and I found Chelsea's baby as well. Still a small little thing, but it looks good. =) I didn't lose a single one of the juveniles I've had more than a month. Not a one of the swords or platies.

I hate that filter, I really do. That's the third time it has done this, and each time it happens fish die. I've had my other filters get clogged before, but they waited until morning for me to fix them! They never exploded or expelled everything out the back like this one does either. I think I'ma buy a new filter next I get more money. In fact, I'm trying to save up for a second filter in my 55 gallon already...saving isn't going well. x.x;

Ah, and I'm looking into pictus catfish myself. lol I'm still doing research and trying to find valid info on them(Have been since I suggested them to Chesh last night and off and on for a month or so). Petco says they get ten inches, like to be in groups, and are fine in a 29 gallon tank...WHAT?! No. Bad petco. =-= However, I have been looking into how three would be in my 55 gallon. So far there is a lot of yay, and a little bit of nay on it. Apparently they DON'T get ten inches, someone told me they max out at about six inches...the ones I'm looking into(There are a couple species of them I think), but they will eat guppies and are fine with other larger livebearers. o-o; So yeah, still looking for actual facts and reading up on them. I really like them, but I certainly can't get them if they're gonna eat my buddies... xD

Have you not read our profile? It all stems from trusted sources.
For raising tadpoles you will definitely need to start them with infurosia.

Be sure to really read up on Pictus. . . I feel like we have a member (I *think* it was on this forum) that set or is setting up an entire tank around these fish. I'll have to see if I can relocate that thread for you. You might find it interesting, or maybe you could contact her for advice? Really pretty fish. . . shame they're such voracious eaters and can't play nice with others!

She was online today, but doesn't post very much. I wonder how her tank is going? Sorry, not much help :/

Haha, that's ok. I've decided against it. Even though there were just a few nay's there, they were enough to knock me off that. I am looking for some good-sized catfish like critters, not cories and plecos, to go in my tank and get along with everyone and every thing. It's difficult to find the perfect matches, but I'm sure I will. Pictus cats would leave most of my critters alone, but once bigger they can and will eat/kill my guppies and platies as well as my smaller-framed mollies. So they're obviously out of the question. They're also night-dwellers unlike my fish, who would be easy targets because of it, most of them sleep right on the ground or in the plants so I would fear damage, if not death, even to my larger fish.

They sure are nice fish though. I'd like to have fish that looked that cool in my tank that would get along. I've had many give me other suggestions I will be looking into very soon.
Tonight I am gonna spend the rest of my awake-time watching something and relaxing. All of the tragedies in my tanks have given me nightmares about the day Leo the Cat died, so I need to stop working my brain and just relax. ;D I was so fried last night I was sleep walking, which, far as I know, I haven't done in about 8-10 years...aside from that one time I got hungry...LOL But I ended up going somewhere...dunno, and left poor Alanna out in the hallway which she did NOT appreciate. That is what let me know I was walking about at night since she was in bed with me and I locked up when I went to bed last night. I think I musta been looking for Leo, because that's the only thing I can recall dreaming.

AH YES! The snails you sent me...they're all doing well. =) They seem to be happy in my tank, some dig in the sand and half hide, others are all over in the "Jungle" or on the glass just hanging out. lol It was a good thing they got here when they did. The forecast said the next ten days would be warm, but the day they got here it started cooling off and snowed the next day. We currently have a nice snowstorm going on, been going all day...I think we have about a foot out there or more. It was still going hard a few hours ago when I checked. And it's supposed to snow for the next two days as well, we're already snowed in too...Being snowed in makes me hungry. >>; It only takes about two feet to do that here, nobody clears our streets and there are hills to the main roads which are impossible when there is ice! Ha. Well, we have food, it just makes me hungry. We could always snowshoe up to the store if we get snowed in too long. xD

Be careful there underneath of all that snow! That's so funny - you had a blizzard, then what? 4 nice days in a row, then another blizzard!? Glad the snails got there in the window of springtime, and to hear that they're doing okay.

Scary about the sleepwalking - rest up and try to de-stress! :(

I'm relieved that you've decided against the Pictus, to be honest. I didn't think it was a good match, either. I hope you find what you're looking for!

lol There are many fish that interest me before I know fully about them, I always research first. =) I wouldn't get anything that has a high chance to hurt my buddies, but then my livebearers pick on each other as is. My gourami's never caused any issues, but my mollies sure do sometimes. I am thinking one of them took a chunk out of my yellow male guppy's tail. But that earned him the name Chip, and I haven't seen any aggression, though I am watching for it...Actually, I have honestly. That big male molly I have is always picking at someone, usually trying to breed and chase others away from his girl. He's taking a liking to my silver molly, which is stressing her out. He seems to be drawn to her white, so I'm gonna get another silver female to take the edge off.

Speaking of my guppies, Miss Luna Bell(Goldfball lol), hasn't popped yet STILL...she's looking a little bit thinner though, I am wondering id the stress from the move to my house caused her to reabsorb instead. However, she is acting like she may give birth soon, so I'm keeping watch.

And speaking of babies, I now have five nests of mystery snail eggs. They must like my tank! One of those nests is starting to get that gross look they get when babies are about to hatch out. It goes from pink to a dark color...looks like ROT to me, but they always hatch out once that starts happening. Two of the nests are new, the other three were laid over the last three weeks or so. =) Ahh, and I heard it was hard to get them to breed. LOL I have room again, thanks to that lovely fiasco with the filter, I lost many babies, though I do still have about twenty of them...I estimate I had about 30-40 before, maybe more since many went into the main tanks and are growing, it's hard to count. I found about six empty shells, so I know I lost some. =( I do still have those brighter colored ones though, and some that look to be other colors besides purple or blue. Time will tell what they grow up to be, they've gotten fairly big, almost the size of a small pea, but not quite. They've slowed down on growth once they get to the size of a...few grains of sand. lol About the size they were in the most recent photos I added, they slow after that it seems.

Well now, I got my second silver female. Maybe my current one can get a break from mister pushy. lol She's a pretty thing, she's got a bit of grey on her like my male does, but not quite as much! She's pretty. I also got a female black molly, very lovely little thing. I wanted to add a bit more of different colors to my tank. I've noticed lately it's all been orange, gold and a little bit of red...I have one red and black platy. lol I thought I'd add in some lighter colors with the silvers, but then I thought...why not pure black?! I have one dalmation female and a marble, they make the rest of the colors, and themselves, look good with the odd mix I have. Haha, I don't really have a color scheme, but if I did I'd have to say mostly orange and gold. I like my mish-mosh of colors though, so I added to it. xD I wanted to get a gorgeous black molly male that somewhat had a sailfin with white along the edges...but I think another male with my current one would be bad, he's possessive of the girls. My juvenile gold molly does ok with him, he's even started breeding...but anything bigger and there may have been trouble, so I decided against it.

Speaking of that male I have, the one I just call an oddball or muppy, he has gotten quite a bit brighter since I got him. I really am pretty good with livebearers! He started out with a little gold on his belly and bright yellow on his tail, the rest was grey and silver. How he's got much darker grey and black colorings and a bright gold belly with an extremely bright yellow tail. He's good and healthy, that makes me happy! :3

Ah yes, finally got my "Catfish" so to speak. I was debating on several there, all got too big and/or aggressive, I was about at a loss...but FINALLY, I have found some rubber-lip plecos. They don't get as big as Bristlenose plecos, but they're thicker in frame, peaceful, and -should- do ok in my 55 gallon. Only get about four inches long, though I have heard of some topping off at six inches, they usually stick around the four inch mark. They were one of the several I was looking into a couple years ago, but I could never find them, or the pit bulls, zebras or clowns. I ended up getting a trio of them. I really hope they will do ok, otherwise I really will be at a loss for plecos, and I want plecos! They're good sized, not small like you usually see...someone has taken good care of them from the looks of it. Two are about three inches long, one is smaller in frame, nice and thick, and the third is about two and a half inches long. Also pretty thick, but I think it may be a female, same with the other that isn't as buff looking. I dunno how to tell them apart. I hope I have two females and a male, that'd be nice. Whether or not they breed...I know males can sometimes be nasty with each other with some of the thicker framed plecos, so I will be watching them like hawks to be sure it doesn't happen. They're so buff compared to the BN plecos, they make them look like dwarves. lol It's been a while since I did research on them, I initially had my heart set on them or the clowns and knew a good bit on them...I need to brush up. lol
