lol Well, my back-up plan would be to put them in the 55 gallon and spray daphnia, baby brine shrimp and algae dust into their fans with a turkey baster. ^^; The 55 doesn't have enough food for them, I don't think, so the only way to keep them happy would be to spray food directly into their fans. Usually that would have the same effect as over-feeding, or so I read on here, but my fish would eat all the extra. lol

I'm gonna try to get to the store today, I have a lot of things to get, running out of baby brine shrimp. x.x The light burned out in grandma's betta tank, and I have no idea what kind of light to get, I'm gonna try asking. But what wattage would you get for a five gallon with plants? o-o I have an el nino fern and one other plant that I think is done for, but the fern should be ok until I get a proper light. What kind though? It's gonna be hard to get a light for that tank! It has nothing blocking the light from the water evaporation! That's probably why the stupid thing went out in the first place, but it is a few months old...but still. I'm gonna see if I can get something to block it from the water, that can't be safe, I wonder why they did such a thing! I also need plant tabs still, I hope I can find some today.

It depends on the type of light fixture you have in there, hon. . . my 3, 5, and 10g tanks all have screw sockets. On the 10g, it's a standard size, but on the 3 and 5, I use full-spectrum 'daylight' CFL lights from the hardware store. They have them (CHEAP, compared to what you'd pay for the sameish thing at a 'fish' shop). Usually they're used in chandler-type lights that take many bulbs. I've been using these types of bulbs for for over a year (all my tanks are well-planted) with no problems, but I don't know what actual aquarium brands to recommend, though I'm sure they must exist. . . the max wattage should be on the light itself somewhere. . .

Well, they only had one type of light for my tank. It's a screw in bulb. It's one of those said it's good for plants and enhances colors, makes the tank look red. It's actually kinda pretty. I also found root tabs! Got a bunch of those and some new plants. I also got a Silver Molly. I used to have one of those, she got sick though. =( But I got one, I couldn't resist. lol She's gorgeous, and bigger than mine was. Mine was just a silver, this one is a Lyretail, they're a tad larger. And some free snails for my assassins again. lol I dunno what kind these are, they called them pests, I offered some assassins and they said SURE! Haha. These have long shells like...like common seashells. Much like assassins but these are bigger and not as colorful. >>; They called them pests and I figured I don't care if they do spread because I think they're cool. lol

But yay, finally found root tabs, I got the API ones and seachem ones, but they only had one pack of seachem root tabs. =( I put them in the big tank where needed most by my sword plant. It's still looking a bit meh, but even without the tabs it has fixed somewhat, so I am hopeful it'll be just fine. Thank you for that tip, Chesh! I hope it helps even more and makes the rest of my plants healthier. In my ten gallon my plants explode and grow, I think it's because I have sand substrate, it probably has more of what plants need. =P

*EDIT* Oh yes, I forgot to mention, grandma finally got her cories. lol They're Julii Cories. It -said- they only get two inches long so we got three of them. I told her their info at stores is usually off or wrong, -usually- so if they get bigger, they are MINE! They're pretty things. She's Ohing an ahing at them. As am I. >>; They're fairly attractive little fish. If they stay the size they are now, the three of them should be fine in the five gallon, if not...and I'm kinda hoping, they'll go in my 55 gallon with my two emeralds and two schwartz cories. I only have two of each, as you know, because that virus/bacterial/yuck killed off the other five. =( I've been scared to get more, I never had cories get sick or die before, so losing five in two days time was a real hit to my heart. The four I have left don't seem any the wiser, haven't been stressed, hang out together, eat what I put in for them and just seem happy as can be, even though there are only two of each type. ^^; I hope they stay happy. I am sure eventually I'll get up the gumption to get a proper group of each going again, but until then, I'm gonna coddle what I have left and hope they stay happy.

Soo, more snail eggs! Last night I checked the top, I do nightly now, and there was a HUGE nest of eggs in the back. It's the size of my two larger nests from last time put together and then-some! =o Hrm, I'm worried about that snail though, she hasn't been moving around very much and she's usually the most active of my snails. I guess she finally pooped out, she's probably fine and just relaxing. Same with one of my blue/ivory snails, I had to reach in and check that one, I thought it was dead since I hadn't seen it move in almost a week! But he shut his trap when I touched him, I put a piece of food next to him and he munched it and went back to sleeping. lol

Yup, the ones in the tank are doing well too. Once they get a tad bigger I can release many into the 55 gallon so they can grow more without all of them massing in the twenty gallon killing my water quality. LOL

The ones I had, they really are getting so big. I'm amazed at how fast those little babies grow, it makes me kinda..."D'AWUH!" If you know what I mean. lol Well, I have some photos of the new eggs, not very good I'm afraid since they're in the back of the tank and there's only a small space to see through. x.x And I got some of my current baby snails again. I know, I keep putting up more photos so close together talking about how big they are, but they've almost doubled in size since the last photos. lol

First up, eggs: Top view

And this one was from the other side of the tank, considering how hard it was to focus on them, I'm shocked it came out as good as it did, still a bit meh from the water on the tank from evaporation.

And now for the baby snails, you can see a couple outside of the net on the glass too, I've found many in the gravel and on plants, they move quicker than you think. I sucked up a bunch today, but I think I returned them all. x.x I was trying to clean but those little suckers kept getting in there and so did the baby fish! I haven't ever had so much trouble cleaning before. Safe to say my cleaning today was pretty poor thanks to having to pull the hose to dump out babies every five seconds. lol
Yes, algae wafer in there for them, just a chip. Well, closer to a halfie now, they eat it all pretty quick! I also give them veggies which don't last long either.

This one is a bit smeared, so hard to focus period because the net is see-through and the baby fish are always there thinking they'll be fed. But yeah, those snails moved right in. I wonder if I should put those in more than once per day, they mass to it within two minutes.

Here's an ok angle, you can see I have some nice colors in there. I am determined to have them all survive, they are so pretty! Oh, that blob in the background outside the net is mom. lol She decided to move around, she nabbed some food then went up top and let go to float around. It's kinda funny when they do that. Quickest way to another place...if you're not in a tank. lol

Well, I think I got about 30-50+ from that last batch of babies. lol I dunno for sure though, most did fall into the main tanks. Still see a few bouncing around in my 55 gallon too.

Speaking of my 55 gallon, got some new video of it and me rambling on and on and on...yeah. And wow, look at my guppy! You remember the female I keep calling Miss Golfball? I got some video of her so you can see WHY I call her that. She is just huge, the female I had give birth last month wasn't even a quarter that size and she had about forty babies! We should have a poll on how many we think she's gonna have. I'd guess at least 80-100. But it's gonna be hard to find out for sure, she's in the main tank. I had her in the net for a few days, she was HAPPY in there of all things. I let her out because I felt bad and she hung around by it and kept trying to get back in. Weirdo. lol
I was starting to think she's sick, but I can see so many babies in there, a few are poking through her skin, you can see their evil little eyes through her. I say evil because...if you've ever been pregnant and had a baby ram its head up between your ribs, you know that HURTS! But I have some footage of the rest of my tank as well. lol I should just put music to it, I can't talk. x.x Well, I CAN talk, but that's the problem. Haha.
lol My blue male guppy is trying tso hard to get my attention. They really do have some personality, as you can see with mine...they aren't just -there- like some guppies. I have one in there that looks like it has some Endler's in it, which I am hopeful about since I want some but they're too small. >_>; I like the colors though.

Yeah. Boy, I really smeared that video up. o-o; It didn't look that bad when I watched it last night and fixed the lighting. It was too dark before, now it's too bright. Can't win. lol I wonder if youtube is just being a jerk and making it smear...I swear it wasn't last night. x.x But then I was tired and I can't hold my hands that still.

Anywho, well, thanks to Chesh I have some Duckweed! I had it all planned out how I was gonna keep it in one side of the tank but that failed. lol I was using a divider cut in half so it didn't block the whole place, was about five inches down in the water or so and about half an inch up top...the duckweed decided to go around it somehow, dunno how, or stick. >>; So I put it in nets. lol Some I let free-flow, and so far all is well. My filter is a tad strong in there, but when it hits that it just goes by the net and back to the other side instead of getting into the filter. I'll have to check the filter a few times per day anyways. I don't mind that, I like the duckweed, it looks neat. Problem is everyone wants to eat it! So I have to find a remedy for that before I let the majority out once I get a proper way to block it on one side. lol

Also have some Malaysian Trumpet Snails from her. :3 They went into my planted ten gallon with sand substrate and seem fairly happy to move about in there. That also let me know what they look like off TV/Computer. Those "Pests" I rescued from the shop the other day were MTS's! How could they call them pests? They're beneficial snails, not pond snails. They called them funny shaped pond snails. =( They do breed fast, or so I hear, but they aren't supposed to hurt the tank, but be good for it instead. x.x Eh well, I'll let them know next I go. They poison their "Pest" snails and it bugs me, even if they were pond snails. Drop 'em in with assassins like I do and they at least have a chance. lol Mine are happy in my twenty gallon...one or two get nommed here and there...but I kinda like them even though they over-breed and eat plants, they are pretty sometimes. >_>; I just don't like things being killed for nothing, if it gets eaten, that's another matter. They go to some use. Especially if that use is vital for others to survive because they can't eat anything else. lol
