I hope the rest of you have figured out what you're going to do during the Zombie Apocalypse, because it's starting here. Whatever you do, don't try to bunk down in Walmart, that's a proven nesting spot for zombies!

Awwwwww, poor babies! I TOTALLY understand how you feel, though. At some point, you just kind of give up. I'm feeling that way about the Kindy tank. (hrm, I should update that thread, lol!) At some point, you do just have to resign yourself to fate, and pick up the pieces when all is said and done. That said, if anything hit my 55. . . I don't think I'd be ABLE to reach that point. I would be a complete disaster - no doubt about it. So KEEP your zombie apocalypse, please?! Or... even BETTER... just get RID of it! Somehow... I'm so sorry. I've looked through all my books, Flexibacter is the ONLY thing I can come up with. But I'm no pro - did you ask your Fish Guy?

Yesss, I love the smileys!

Well, I haven't given up, I've just resigned myself to the fact I can't save them all, you can only do what you can do. the rest is really up to them.
I would like to ask Fish Guy about it. The only way I can think to get rid of it is to....get rid of the last few cories I have. Nobody else has it, maybe I can still save the day. I'd really rather not, but I'd hate to lose more of my fish! It seems to just be my cories. I am going to ask Fish Guy if I can get there today. Maybe he can give me better medicine and even tell me what my Zombie Disease really is. =/ There may be hope yet! lol But I'm not putting all my coins in the same boot until I know for sure it's gone.

Well, I can say for sure my calico long-finned BN pleco is doing good, I put up some photos of her/him in the pics and videos section. lol

Hmmm.....

Yeah, your last one was the best. lol

Hopefully he can give you some direction. You got the cories there, right? Maybe they've been dealing with this, too. . .

I KNOW, it's a terrible photo. lol But how is this for a pregnant fish? I'm going to be a great grandma. =p This is one of the babies my gold dust molly had a long time ago. She's not full grown yet, but she's almost the size of her mom. Her mom was about the same size when she had her third brood of babies with me. Her sister is showing no signs of breeding, being pregnant or even wanting to.
Even though my tank is in a bit of disarray right now, I may get a happy miracle out of it all. That'd be nice, I haven't had gold dust molly babies since she was born. ^_^ You can see so many baby eyes in there! Hopefully this will go well for us both, I need some good news. =)
You can also see most of the fish in the photo, especially her, have no signs of the yuck like my platy did, or any other fish that passed, I think we may be done with it, but I'm gonna get some antibacterials/anti-fungals just in case. If petshop guy has better info, we'll go with that! ^_^ I was gonna go both yesterday and today, but I was blown off for my ride both times, ma says she'll take me tomorrow, but she's said that for the last five days. >>;

Awwww! Great grandma! How exciting!!! :) I love it!

GREAT to hear that things seem to finally be settling down over there - has the last of your Cories passed, or were you able to save some?

There are still four...maybe five in there, three emeralds and two schwartz cories. Or two and two, I'm not really sure. There is one emerald I am still worried about, but it looks better than it did. It's still swimming slowly and bobbly and not wanting to be on the bottom where it's supposed to be, but it's looking better and going for food. None of my livebearers have fallen ill or died, nobody else has died at all since my last fish death update of one cory.
I do have one hi-fin platy in a net, it's got similar problems to what you're having in the kindy tank. Very, very thin, back looks like it -might- be starting to arch, but I'm not sure, she may just be very thin. She has started looking better since I put her in the net and added in some salt and direct feeding. Well, she can eat before others bother, she's kinda slow, but she's gotten some energy back.
We're FINALLY going to make it to the shop today, I'm thinking I've got some flexibacter, and the hi-fin, who has been sick longer, may have a parasite. So I'm gonna try the maracyn I+II and see if that does anything for them. I still don't know on that, I am going to ask Pet Shop guy if we make it there. Neptunes is pretty far, we may just go to the petco nearby. None of us are really up for very much lately. e.e;

I am also wanting to get a bamboo shrimp for my ten gallon tank. I had one a very long time ago and I loved it. I think it'd like it in there, although I do want it in the bigger tank, just not now when I have unknown issues. lol I had one living with my platies a couple years ago, they never bothered the other. Occasionally one of my platies would pick at him and he'd smack 'em, but they got past it, he never did try to eat them or chase them or anything(I know it can be iffy with them, they don't have claws, but they can still grab small and stupid fish, which I don't have in there). I'm wanting to give that a try again. The one I had was the only survivor of whatever killed my first tank off, but he soon passed away afterwards from he stress, I imagine. Before that all happened, he was a nice dark color, always fanning out at the top of a plant and he seemed happy in there. From what I read, that means he was healthy and happy. =) But I am gonna go for two this time since I know a bit more about them and that they like to be in at least a pair.
While I'm there, if I see any beauties, I may go for them. My QT tank is just about free. I use my ten gallon for it(Which has a betta and a couple frogs), and if they're going in there anyways, why not I say? I no longer have a bunch of female betta and sick gourami, molly and platy in there. lol I dunno if I will, it really depends. I dind't want to get anymore fish and just go with what I have, but if I fine any nice mollies or platies, I may go for it. ^^;
Speaking of my gourami, Capone fully healed up! He had this big chunk out of his back ad the fish were chewing at it and making it worse, so I put him in QT with my female betta and molly, they all got along fine thankfully, and Capone healed fully within the month. Well, he was healed fully in about two-three weeks, I kept him in QT longer just to be safe. I think he injured himself on either the thing holding my heater which I removed(One of the things that hold the suction cup to the glass was broken and I didn't know it!), or on the filter. No further accidents have happened, so I can only assume it was that broken piece of plastic.

Sounds like you're at the edge of the madness over there - and coming out of it, thankfully! Very happy to hear your sweet lil' Capone is all better, and managed to dodge the zombie bullet. I know you'd have been devastated if anything happened to him...

Sorry to hear that one of your hi-fins is showing similar symptoms to whatever bug we've got in the kindy tank. . . I hope she just needed some R&R and target feeding, and it's not the same thing. . .

I dunno, girl, you're mighty brave! I think I'd be holding off on bringing anything else home for a few months after thing settle down 100% - I'd just be TOO nervous to risk it after all of that. *worries*

Good luck on the shrimp! I want shrimp, never had 'em. I'm sure I'll get there someday, but. . . I don't have anywhere to put them right now! I think the rams would eat them, and even if not - I have so many bottom-dwellers in Becoming, lol! Can't wait to see pics!!!

Well, no shrimp. EVERYWHERE is out of them. lol However, they had adoption day at the shop, so I got a gold gourami and a molly. Remember your little juvenile molly that was gold with a bit of black spotting on it? Someone had brought one of those in, except mine is a rather large male with more silver coloring between his gold flecks and gold tail. They didn't have any of the petshop taint on them and they adopted them out with only a two dollar adoption fee. So I said why not. lol They're in my QT tank, I moved my betta to a breeder. They may not have petshop taint, but they're still going to be in QT for a month or two. My gold gourami will possibly be in my twenty gallon tank, at least for a short period(Until I get the big tank settled down that is, and make sure he doesn't have anything either), I'm wanting to do something else with it once the babies are grown and out.
We'll see, I have to research what will get along with him first. He seems pretty sweet and gets along ok with my new molly for now. lol Whoever raised that little group of golds did a really good job. They were all very bright and active, lovely colorings. I heard they could get along with dwarves, but I dunno if I want to chance it. There's yay's and nay's for it, and I like them both. lol It'll certainly be up to him who goes where. Actually, if he continues getting along with my livebearers, I may put him in the 55 gallon once it's settled in a few months and move Capone to the twenty. That sounds better for their size to me, gold's get pretty big. It says they can be happy in twenty gallon tanks, but I don't think I could ever even consider a six inch fish in there. LOL Right now he's only about two inches. He sure is loving my ten gallon for now, he's investigating the plants and frogs, not poking at anyone or showing aggression. He's not going to be ok in a small tank like that for long though. lol So I'm gonna need a bigger tank ready within a month I'd say, and my babies should be good to go by then, or at least ok for a different tank.I'll most likely give some of the larger babies away and move a few to the ten gallon, pull a little switch. =p

Oh yes, I didn't mention. It seems my mystery snails had babies in my nursery tank. I found some fire red/orange babies in there. I assume that color will darken and change as it gets older...I've only found one, but now I know why my Assassin snails are suddenly flourishing! >/ I wanted those babies. So I did go buy some pond snails...well, didn't buy them, they were free. They were trying to purge them and failing. LOL I said I'd take them off their hands, I like my assassin snails, they're very pretty...but they're eating the less defended baby mysteries before their shells can get nice and hard. =( The little killers are also spawning. ^^; But now I know why they're still going at least, I just wish it wasn't my wanted babies. So, well, I can't say pond snails bothered me that much when I was over-run last time, should it happen again. LOL I can always sell them as well, a lot of shops will buy them. I offered some to petco if they wanted them, to help with their problem, they said they'd see, they have some problems to take care of first.
