Hahaha, remembered that, did you? lol Eh, I doubt I'll ever have enough money for that! But if I did, I imagine it'd still take ten years or so.

Well, that new mama, she's doing just peachy...actually she stayed pretty big after she started having eggs instead of babies. She never had anymore babies, but she's still got a rather large belly. She seems to be perfectly happy though! Bright and active. I moved her into the big tank before bed last night after letting her have the majority of the day to herself. She seems to have bonded with all of my fish nicely, but mostly she hangs with the new hi-fin and Mister President, my betta.
I have Mister P. in there because my Orchid got sick and treating him in the big tanks didn't seem to be working, so I switched fish with grandma. lol She was pretty mad at me, but she's ok with it. My orchid has something really odd going on with his eyes, I think it's either a fungus or cloudy-eye, possibly an infection from the popeye. I dunno. He's looking better though, I've had him in the five gallon for three days and he's perking up. He also had a little fin-rot. I gotta say, tired of this happening to those beautiful betta. =( Once they get this bad it's always touch and go, we'll see if he fully recovers.

As for my newest babies: I thought mom was eating them all! I left for half an hour to go eat and when I came back over half of the babies were gone. I about cried. @_@ But then even after I removed mom they kept vanishing, I couldn't figure it out....and then I saw one of the babies bounce around and it went right through the vents in the breeder. lol So I looked about the tank and they were mostly in there. Oh well. I'm not comfortable letting them out myself, but if they get out, they get out. >>; The older babies are big enough to eat those little newborns, but they haven't paid them any mind. Regardless, the ones I can keep locked up, I will. At least for a few days.
They're cute little babies too, most of them have nice dark eyes, although I have seen a few oddballs(Ones that have a black eye and a silver eye, or just two different colored eyes I call oddball), and they're all pure white. I've noticed colorful platy seem to start out white. They're so cute, I just love having babies around! x)

Gah, sorry to hear about your Betta woes :/ I really hope your little Orchid gets better soon :(

It's funny (in a sad way) that you try SO HARD to save these lil' ones, and they STILL manage to get themselves eaten! Survival of the smartest ;) You should get a little pad of Java moss (or some kind of moss) growing on a peice of mesh - I've found they're THE BEST when it comes to fry - esp when they're in a breeder net. The moss at the bottom, and duckweed at the top, and they're happy as can be :)

Well, I was so excited about Twilight Sirius(My orchid betta, my older little cousin fought with me on the Twilight part, but I suppose it fits since I named him after a star), this morning I about scared grandma out of her cup of coffee. lol One of his eyes cleared up and his color is returning! He still looks a bit yucky, but he SAW his food and he snarfed it. ^_^ So he's not blind at least!

Now...my female bettas, all are doing well. But I seem to have one idiot in the group. They're still in QT, and my gourami and Creamsicle are with them, all get along fine and both of those non-bettas are fixing up nicely. Capone had that injury on his back as did my creamsicle, I'm not sure if it's fungal or actual injury, but it's healing...and I have my orange and blue betta Jack in there in a big net as well, he's looking better too! He had a messed up fin that started getting kinda meh.
Anywho, the idiot female betta...that big blue girl I got, she's gorgeous...She likes to jump in the net with Jack. x.x First time she did it when I was feeding them and had the lid off, second time I dunno...I assume the same way she popped in this time. She somehow pushed the lid over enough to squeeze in, and she has those markings that say she's ready to lay eggs, and Jack is making nests. I think I averted disaster though. She was very mean to him. She was picking on him and he just kinda took it. lol She'd fly at him all flared, then leave just as fast, and he just kinda backed out of her way and didn't flare. Is that breeding behavior for betta? She used to be timid, never really saw her flare quite that drastically before...infact I thought females only had a little flare in them, not big draco-face like the males.
Yeah, I don't want kids yet...how the heck are they getting the lid off?! I may have to move Jack early to his other tank. x.x; Last thing I need is betta kids! Although I intend to breed them eventually, just not any time soon. I only have a few cups and no other proper supplies saved up for betta babies. xD Whew, maybe she'll drop her eggs soon and get over it, she's very much wanting Jack. Jack went from tough guy to cowering in the corner under his rather giant bubble nest. >_>; I have a pretty heavy plastic lid on there, it doesn't latch as it's my mesh net which doesn't come with a lid...but they still shouldn't be able to move that, I snag it between the rope and it's flat on there. x.x Meh, I had no idea they'd do this. xD It's all good until one of the girls gets downward stripes and a big belly, then whichever girl has that tries to jump in with the boys. I had a divider before, but they were jumping it too.

Kinda funny really. I mean if anything does happen I can try my best, but I'm trying my best to keep them from breeding as is. xD Oh well. Pet shop guy said if I had any babies he'd take care of them. lol But I'd rather not do that to him either. Then again, he's got a place to properly raise baby betta. So eh, I do like raising babies myself, but I suppose if an incident does happen again, and I have the lid taped on this time so it shouldn't, I can give him a call. ^^; Crazy fish! The ones I want to breed refuse, the ones I don't want breeding jump dividers and move lids to do so! I wanna know how the heck she did it!

I was watching her today...I figured it out. If she can't jump up there, which she tries constantly, she will push herself against the net and kinda slide up...it's weird. And then she wiggles on the lid until it moves over enough for her to get in...which she can't now, so she actually stalked around the net for hours this morning trying anyways. @_@ I kept trying to get it on camera, but she fled to the other side of the net when she saw me move.

Well, I have more babies. Guppy babies. lol I went to the shop yesterday to pick up some medicine for my betta and saw a bunch of newborn babies in the female guppy tank being eaten. =( So I told the lady "I have a nursery tank at home, I'll take those babies! :3" She was like "Oh yay, that's good because they're getting eaten! I didn't see any babies earlier!" I told her they looked like they were just born though, they usually move the babies to a back tank and raise them until they're big enough, but sometimes they don't see them...and other workers are too freakin lazy. >_>; So yeah, fry are free at petsmart. I initially went to Neptunes, but they were closed. T_T
So, I ended up with 20-30 baby guppies, most are brand new, but two look to be about two weeks old or so. I also purchased a few adults. lol I got three females and two males, but unfortunately one of them died over night. My pregnant Cobrta female died. =( I am almost positive she was the one giving birth, the babies look like cobra babies, they have those markings on their tails coming in. It's hard to tell, I dunno. But I am assuming so and that she had one stuck and died. Darn. I have heard guppies are pretty fragile when it comes to having babies, some don't survive the pregnancy let alone the delivery. I am sure many do obviously, but I've heard more death stories with them than any other livebearer.
I am not sure I'll be replacing the female that died, I may just keep some of the babies. So right now I have one black and red pregnant female, one that is sorta a creamy gold color with lemon yellow shading, also pregnant, and one male that is also a creamy gold color and a VERY stunning blue male.
My livebearer tank is complete, I think I have them all now. LOL Mollies, Swordtails, Platies and Guppies.

Well, now my black and red female isn't doing too great. My girls are dropping like flies, but the males seem fine. I wonder if it was the tank they were in, they were in two different tanks. I didn't see any sick or dead ones in either, but eh. Great. x.x Yeah, I don't think I'll replace them, not there especially. -sigh- Such beautiful fish dying like that, and you know it's from poor care at certain shops. =( I have one female that looks just fine though. The other two started floating around vertically soon after getting them and then died soon after, but the gold female shows no signs of this. I wonder if it's a swim bladder problem or something. Nothing I can do for those two now though. =( This is why I didn't want guppies before, they're so fragile! @_@ Maybe some of the babies will survive though, and I'm hoping on the last female I have as well. Such a shame, really. I liked those fishies.

My Creamsicle molly has a dark spot and has been getting bigger over the last few weeks, and now she is laborey again, not to mention grumpy as all else...she took the tail off one of my female bettas so I had to remove them and she nips at anyone that comes near. =-= Let's see if I get more babies. =) Always a joy to get some from her! Speaking of her grumpiness...she's not the only one. lol Some of her month old babies have gotten her attitude. Haha, it just gets about fifty times worse when she's nearing the end of pregnancy. ^^; For a few days before...and occasionally for a day or two after she recovers from delivery.
She's now all alone in there with a guppy in a breeder, a betta in another breeder, and my hi-fin platy who is still acting sick so I can't remove him. She's clenchy. =( My Creamsicle is in there because she's got odd dry like patches on her...so moving her wouldn't be a great idea either, especially if it's like someone else suggested: Lymphocystis, which would be contageous...not sure that's what she has though, but I can't find any answers. Other than being a grump, she's perfectly fine. Acting normal, eating, being her regular creamy self and trying to bite everyone within a one mile radius... lol
