swordtail preggie

so i woke up this mornin and my swordtail has an extremely large belly compared to last night. also quite square in shape. so im lookin forward to swordtail fry now along with all thhe others!!! i dunno wat im gonna do with them all ill have to ask my lfs if they will take them i think lol

Nice idea.:) I'd leave all the fry to survive especially your mollies.:) Just provide several plants and most of the fry will live.:) If you can't handle all the fry, you can always give some to your lfs and friends.

what other fry do you have as i have 5 female guppies and only the one is very fat but no signs of any fry yet and also i noticed my female swordtail is geting bigger

i have 14 guppy fry and 1 balloon molly(other 10 got eaten :() the only reason i managed to save the fry was cos it was a month from her last lot and i seperated her, also she looked like she was gonna burst compared to the night before!! i believe they give birth every 30 ish days, if they r pregnant ull noice a gravid spot which will get blacker the closer they r to giving birth.( not that im an expert) lol

hi thanks for the advice i also bought a book on livebearers my tank is about 4 foot on a cabinet in there i have a spotted plec ,5 female and 3 male guppies, pair swordtails,red tail shark and a silver shark 2 harlequin tetras 2 emporer tetras 2 zebra tetras 1 tiger barb 2 cloud tetras and a frog and a loach that looks like a snake forgot what they call them

nice collection of fish but b prepared for lots of fry!! if ur lookin at breeding ull need a seperate tank lol soon ull b over run!!

thanks this tank cost me enuff (lol) got 3 breeding traps on standby if ihave too many i could always sell them on ebay i am sure i can post them cheaper than those on ebay i would rather sell them than the other fish eat them

i know wat ya mean its heartbreakin seein the little ones get eaten! they have to b about 4-5 months old b4 they r sellable age i think and giving that they give birth every 30-40 days ull have lots lol but have fun!!!

turns out my swordtail isnt as preggie as i thought!! i think she was extreeeeeeemly constipated lol!! she was kinda sittin upwards in the water and after goin to the loo alot her belly went down and she started swimming normally :(:(

got up this morning and found one of my females (the fat one) dead :( .but can not see any fry but i will replace her (sunday) i love the colours of guppies esspecially the electricblue colour. shame about your swordtail not being preggie :( . that snake thing is a coolio loach (not sure how to spell it)
