Swordtail?

Okay so i just went and picked up one gorgous male Swordtail and a female that doesnt show the sword, who looks to be very pregnant, even from the platys i have had thats had babies ive never seen a Gravid spot this big.... How many day do you think before i have some babies????

Congrats, they are some good looking green swordtails. The female may be a few more days away from having fry. Her rounded body should start to square off and then usually i find mine will give birth 1-3 days after.

When you see little black spots around her anus she's about ready to pop, they are the fry's eyes. Hope you have a birthing compartment that the fry can drop into a seperate little space becuase she'll eat them. I had a green sword that gave birth and before he could drop down he was gone, she turned that fast.

Out of all my fish that has had babies, only my Black molly has gotton a square belly, but i havent ever had babies from her, i thinks its just from the FBS i feed them, cause thats the only time i notice her with a square belly,

but this female has a rather big belly, with a gravid spot twice as big as when my other platies had their babies
i have her in a little half gallon tank inside my big tank with a group of fake grass, so hopefully will help


Also

I got a new female Guppy today who is also pregnant, she is in the net breeder with my other 3 guppies, and she is just sitting in one corner, and if a certain female comes over she chases her off, its the only female that isnt pregnant that she is chasing off
is she doing this because she is about to have babies?

All I can tell you is from my experience, when my Guppy was near birth she would chase anyone away, males and females. Thats when I put her in the breeder net and not long after I had fry. Also, If she is only chasing the one away and it is not pregnant, I would remove this one from the net.

OH ya she is defently pregnant, she is the furthest along it looks like, i picked her out just for that reason when i got her lol
