Suckermouth catfish genders?

Hello everyone,

Got a question about my two suckermouth cat fish.

I have a large tank and I decided to buy two cat fish. I've had the largest one for over 5 months now and I've had the smaller one for about 2 months.

Anyway, I just want to know if there is any way to tell if they are male or female? Are there any noticeable traits that can ditermin the sex of them?

They are suckermouth cat fish, I belive the term is 'pleco' or something? All I do know is that they are both suckermouth cat fish.

I'd like to be able to tell the sex on them if I can, so please send any help you can!

the male has a little peanut on his bottomside.only joking .there are many fish that cannot be sexed.the male in some species are more colorful not the case in plecostmus.I never heard of them breeding in an aquarium.I have heard of them breeding in outdoor pond though.I suspect they like murky dark water so noone sees them doing the nasty.

A picture paints a thousand words.

Could be one of 400 different sp. of pleco, some which can be sexed easily some that are very hard to sex. Without knowing what kind you have it hard to give you indicators eg interopercular odontodes, is a picture possible?
