Small Breeding Program

hey everyone im wanting to setup a small scale fish breeding program using three-four 55 gallon tubs and then a large 280 gallon viewing tank w 2 small 10 gallon as fry growouts. IM thinking of breeding like smaller ca cichlids ie jacks, texas, bolivian rams, firemouths, then like a larger pair of cichlids like chuco godmani, vieja argentina, or jags.

Im wanting a central filtratino systeme what do you think owuld ber a good filter/s for this, and also whats like some preacuations i need to look at before using like tubs and other plastics things like that?

Thanks all

Hmm, I'm not sure 55 gallon tubs would be large enough for a lot of the fish you're mentioning (like jacks) although it would probably work for Bolivians.

I'm also not sure that a central filtration system is the way to go. Fry are very prone to illness so you want to keep different tanks isolated to prevent transfer of bacteria.

Last thought, breeding in tubs will be very difficult to properly view the fish in. If a fish lays eggs under a rock you can't tell without seriously upsetting/disrupting them etc. I think it would be a hassle in the long run.
