Silver Tip Tetras
Hey all. I recently purchased 11 silver tip tetras to cycle a new discus tank I'm starting. I brought them home yesterday and they have acclimated quite well. I went into the room today to find them "running" all over the place. After several minutes of close observation, I concluded that the brighter males were chasing the duller females. (Rather fast, too. My eyes had a hard time focusing on them.) Anyway, I've decided to take the brightest male and largest female out and throw them in an extra 10 gallon I have with some water wysteria for the female to lay her eggs on (hopefully?). Does anyone have any knowledge about these fascinating little creatures?
To my knowledge, almost all tetras are egg scatterers, not egg depositors. Tetras can be difficult to breed.

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.
Hm, thanks. Well, I've noticed that the females, after having been chased to death, they will either rest and "pant" on the bottom, or they will quickly swim over to my telanthera or red wendtii and quickly observe the leaves as if looking for a place to lay her eggs before another male comes over and starts bothering her.
