After an astonishing discovery, my convicts have finally bred!
The acclaimed "male" turned out to be female, and spawned this morning with another pink convict.
The tank is 29 gallon with hard water, ph 7.0, and a biowheel filter *forgot the model number*
Temp is 80, F.
The mother has taken the dmoinant role with the eggs and the father does nothing more than beat up the other female *dither fish.*
Tank mates are 2 colombian ramshorn snails, 2 bushynose plecos, and the three convicts.
3 pots as spawning sites, and a "natural" looking cave area site.
Currently feeding blood worms and brine shrimp, and culturing some green water for the fry.
Does everything here look successful so far?
