Random Egg?

Hey guys...so my girlfriend and I have noticed something that appears to be 1 egg that is in a fake plant of a big fake rock. Are there any species of fish that lays 1 egg only? We are both confused as this is our first tank.

Sorry, if I was smart I would have thought to go to your tank link!
From that stock list I don't see anything that would lay one egg. Snails lay clusters, others have no record in captivity of breeding (ex: pictus) Someone else with more experience will have to chime in to confirm; I don't know. I wonder if it is something other than an egg??

2 snails, 1 dwarf gourami, 1 powder blue gourami
the above are eggs layers, now it is possible for both the gouramis to breed even though they are different breeds, and the snails lay their eggs on the top of the tank and in clusters, out of the water,
I am unsure about the rest of you stock list, but it is possible for the gouramis to be the parents of this lonely egg
there is one way to tell, as i can see the egg or how the fish act
what have the gouramis been doing?
have they been doing what is called a mating dance, where they swim around each other and sometimes locklips?
if so then they may be the parents,
