not sure where to put this, not looking to breed but want to add a buddy. i have a blue ram/german ram and would like to partner it up. i do know that getting 2 of the same sex is bad as they will just fight. how do i tell what i have?

In a 50 gallon I wouldn't worry about it. I have three in a 100gl and they all have staked out their individual territories and there is no problem at all. During feeding time they'll leave their *spaces*, feed and then retreat back. Once in a while during feeding they will squabble but then go right back to their respective territories.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...
