The females don't need to be separated but the males will fight. And as Cody said, guppies are livebearers and bettas are egg layers. They do not get pregnant.

Whatever.. ok fine they have living things coming out of there private areas!. lol I just say pregnant because its a animal having another. So when you hear me say Pregnant about an egg layer you will now know what I mean. right.
