ODD but true. I purchased 2 white.look yellow to beef up my stock, well 2 are frmales and now have eggs. I looked things up and found that zebras breed w/ a constant temp of 78, so yours will probably keep breeding mine at a drop to 68.Just be ready next time ,you have to remove zebras before they hatch(48 hours after spawning or theyll eat the fry, mine eat the eggs. HA HA. o HEY you can get a wee tank use your gravel and water from your old tank, just like a water change, then put things back whrn alls done.If danios are as hardy as they say they'll be ok.

Zebras are egg scatterers that need some swimming room. I have watched mine using the best part of the substrate in my 120 gallon tank to breed. For me the problem is that it is a community tank and the eggs don't last long. If trying to breed zebras and have survivors, most folks will use a coarse substrate or even children's marbles so that the scattered eggs can fall into the spaces between the gravel pieces where the fish can't reach them. That way the parents and other fish don't get the eggs and some fry can survive.
