Pregnant Sunset Platies
i have 2 pregnant sunset platies and i would like to know as much about hem as i can if anyone could tell me the best way to care for them when they are pregnant please tell me.
Platys will eat their young, as will many livebearers, if give the opportunity. If you have a well planted tank with plants in which the young can hide, java moss or similar, you may be able to leave the pair in the tank together. The care of the female is nothing extraodinary. It sounds as though you have been doing a very good job. Keep doing as you have. Keep doing your routine maintenance and you should be fine. Be careful after the young have been born doing water changes. You may suck a few babies up when you siphon the tank. Keep us informed.
