ok, so she is pregnant, HUGE belly.

I put her in a floating breeder tank, becuase I dont want the fry eaten or sucked into the filter. BUT she seems very stressed in there, she keeps trying to swim out of it (by swimming fast towards the sides and bottom)

Should I just take her out and let her lay the eggs in the tank, and let nature take its course?

What do you think?

one more question...

will she lay the eggs and then the male will fertilize it? in that case I need to have a male around or leave her in the tank.

Or ware the eggs already fertilized and she just needs to lay them?

Thanks

I would take her out of the breeding unit. They are only really used for livebearers and are usually very stressful for the fish, often causing them to misscarry.

For egglayers, let her out so she can lay them. Keep an eye on her and when you see the eggs, remove them and put them in the breeding unit to hatch.

Good luck.
