How do i tell if my platy is having babies

:D GDay

I have a platy mum in a breeder tank and I would like to know how long would it take for her to deliver the fry. I see some black dots in her belly for the last few days. Is this it

Cheers

Welcome.

It should be close.:) Remember not to use breeding hatcheries when breeding them. Use a heavily-planted tank instead or let nature take its course. Platies are very prolific so I wouldn't think of separating the fry unless you think you can accommodate every fry.:)

Thanks for the tips. Nothing as yet. I'll go out and get some more plants today to make it thick in parts
