Platie prolapse

As expected, my platies are prolific little buggers. I have fry of all different sizes in my tank. One absolutely huge mama fish must have given birth last night, as I have many tiny little fry hiding in my riccia that weren't there yesterday. Mama fish also died. I know platies can die after giving birth, but it looks like she prolapsed in the process. Anyone ever see this before?

Yes, not unusual. Death during and after the birthing process is common among live bearers. I lost a large albino sailfin mollie last week. It does happen.
