Hi ! I purchased a Blue moon platy early in April and I have noticed that its stomach has been growing. I did some research and confirmed it does have a gravid spot. It looks like the stomach is square. I need to know is it pregnant and how do I care for/ prepare for the fry. I also know that I have anther platy that IS male and they chase each other around alot. Thanks!:-D
yup she preggo...try keeping the male in a seprate tank.he will just stress her out.and turn the heat up to about 80 she will like the heat.but do it slowly.1 degree per hour.
Ok I will do that and 1 more question I have 2 pictus catfish that are about 2 inches long is there any chance that they will eat all of the babies?? I check whenever I get a chance which is alot ( maybe once an hour ) I won't be two upset if they eat some not all and I do have a breeding net cage thing I bought at my LFS for 5 dollars. Should I put the platy in that or will it stress her out??
i have mine now it the basket but they dont really move..aka lack of space.id go to wallmart and get there 10 gallon tank for about 12 bucks and put a heater and filter in it with some rock.
My platy gave birth to one fry so far I just noticed when I was going to feed them!!!
