Exclamation are my dianos going to lay eggs soon? pics please help.

i have never delt with egg laying fish before. only snail. lol. and i don't want to encourage them eating these eggs. so what i can i do? i am not even 100% positive that they are pregnant, but i would like to be prepared if they are. how many eggs will they lay? where do they like to lay them? when do they hatch? sorry lots of questions, and very excited! should i isolate the eggs into a breeder tank?

I accidently breed mine once and there was nothing to it. My water was about half the tank and there was LOTS of java moss to keep them safe along with a divider with a slow betta on the other side. I also believe(but not sure) that there has to be a fairly specific range of water quality for them to do so.

If i can find a camera I will get a picture of my fish to show you how plump they can get

are they going to lay eggs or is that normal for them to get fat like that?

I would say that is eggs yes. Normally they should stay fairly slim. I have a danio that looks like she is ready to explode, just so big with eggs. If you actually want to breed them you'll need lots of java moss for the fry to hide as mentioned already.

Anything that resembles the java, there are lots of options. Really what your looking for is something thick that your big fish can't really get into and that the little ones can go in, just look at other mosses I don't know any off the top of my head but others might
