Mollies and Tetras breeding?

just wondering, i'm not to smart with fish types and their breeding abilities, but i've had two batches of babies in my 20 gal. and there are 2 black skirt tetras and (was) one spotted mollie and now that the second babies are about a year or more old i thought at first they were tetras but they look almost exactly like a mollie, except some of their fins and some of them also have the green/grey color of a tetra, or at least a color that looks nothing of the original molly. I've come to the conclusion that one of the tetras breeded with the molly, but my real question is if the babies are able to breed with each other. I've given some away and kept some, after not many were left, and now i have about 8 or 9, and was just curious if they could breed together, to be prepared.

Tetras are egg layers and mollies are live bearers.

Female mollies are able to store the milt from the male for several months. Its quite possible she was impregnated while in the lfs. To the best of my knowledge tetras are difficult to breed as they require very specific conditions.

the strange thing is, there were 2 batches of babies, about 1.5 months apart. i doubt that's possible for the molly to have to seperate batches like that. also, each batch looks the same, gene wise. They both have the same characteristics, body shapes, range of colors, etc.

All livebearers like the mollies can produce several batches of fry with only one deposit of sperms by the male to a female.
