feeling a bit of relief.....got him in the breeder net.....was stressed at first, but now hes eating a bunch.....could it be possibly the little ravenous guppys got to the food first and he was too nervous to go in for some himself?

No, I think the confinement will just add to his stress. Plus, if by chance he does have a contagious illness, that won't stop other fish from getting sick. I doubt it's an illness though.

Oops, you answered yourself before I did.

Unlikely that smaller guppies would intimidate him into not eating but who knows, maybe he's a bit of a wus. lol. If he's eating that's a VERY good indication he's not sick, and that he's coming around.

DEFINITELY NOT!! Putting ANY full sized fish in a breeder net for prolonged periods of time would ultimately cause an increased amount of stress, which means a drastic decrease in his immune system, therefore leaving him open to any and all types of sickness and making it harder for them to fight it off and heal. Putting him in a breeder net is the WORST thing you could do, next to killing it.
