Midas Cichlid spawn again

This is their 4th spawn so hopefully we can get free swimmers. Dad is absolutely nasty at the moment so I won't be sticking my hand inside the tank for fear of getting bitten. Both seem to be doing a good job on guard duty. Will keep the thread going as the progress... if they progress.

The eggs...

Thanks.

Wanted to post a quick video. Just having some fun with the pair defending the eggs. You can see they are very territorial.

Yes they are same with my convicts. Last night my cat was sitting on the arm of the couch next to the tank and kept pawing at the glass, with the male on the other side standing his ground.

Midas' are one of the most territorial cichlids. I can't wait till get a tank large enough to keep one

If anything they are fun to keep when they get along. Unfortunately I will not be keeping them long term. I feel they get a bit too big for this size tank. This tank will be home to my pair of cubans. For now though I am enjoying the midas.
