match-making adult angels

My first attempt to match-make a male and a female has failed. The male ate all the eggs the female laid. They grew up together in a group of juveniles, but both have their own significant others. I thought they should be in love instead. I tried to create the romance. Obviously, it didn't quite work out. Has anyone ever tried and succeed?

From what I understand this doesn't necessarily spell failure. Apparently it can take a pair a couple of tries to get the spawning exactly right including not eating the eggs etc. I'm not an angel keeper right now, and I've never spawned any myself, but this is what I read. I'd keep them together and see if they try again.

30g SE Asian Tank
15 Lambchop Rasbora
2 Gold White Cloud Minnows
3 Dwarf Chain Loaches
2 Powder Blue Dwarf Gourami

55g Amazon Tank
2 Wild Type Angels
1 Marble Angel
1 Black Angel
1 Koi Angel
2 Bolivian Rams
14 Pristella Tetra
10 Dwarf Pencilfish
2-3 Twig Catfish (to come)
