male guppies anf female swordtails ??

i have had guppies for several months now and i decided to get some swordtails
i have been advised that male guppies will not breed with female swordtails but...
my male guppies will not leave the female swordtails alone.
i am worried that this will stess the female swordtails out.
can anyone give me some advice
thank you
kristina
