Just curious.

I know notthing about guppies and was just curious about how long the gestation period is for guppies.

I think it has a lot to do with the water temp too. Mine seem to drop more with the temp between 72-74 than any other time.

At around 77F they will drop around 28 days. Cooler means longer and warmer means less time. The metabolic rate of the fry is determined by water temperature so a higher metabolic rate means shorter time between drops.

This is also true with mollies, platies and swordtails.
There maybe more but these I know for sure.

WaYa, it is true of most livebearers. The number of days varies some with the species but the concept of changing metabolic rate affecting the time is fairly constant. For endlers, the 77F gestation is only 23 days. For many of the goodeids, it is closer to 60 days but even so temperature affects the time the same way.
