How do I now if my fish were matting?

Hi everyone. Umm I had a question. Two days ago I put in my tank 2 new mystery snails (I already had another Gold and black snail in the tank), one Ivory and one blue and the Ivory snail started getting on top of the Gold snail. At first I didn't know what was going on so I took the Ivory snail and moved it to another side of the tank but later I saw it on top of the Gold snail again and after a little while it got off and both snails went their way. So I'm wondering if they were matting or just being friendly. Also, my two Rainbow Sharks were "dancing" for a while and following each other, it looked playful to me but idk they were also matting or doing something else because they are not fitting.

Thanks guys. =]

I dont know about all snail species but typically when snails mate, the only proof you will see is the egg mass. The mass is usually a clear gel that has tiny cream or white dots inside. They are usually on the glass or on plant leaves.
