what do i feed the young
how long till the young can accept the flake
What does the tank need to look like for them to spawn in

The tank needs to be long and the water needs to be shallow. Zebras are egg scatterers that will be happy to eat the eggs if they can, hence the shallow water. You put a layer of kids marbles across the tank bottom so the eggs will fall down between them out of reach of the adults. Feeding can be a bit of a challenge. A good first food would be infusoria or similar microscopic food. It can be followed by things the size of banana worms or Walter worms. Next would be maybe microworms and finally all the way up to baby brine shrimp. BBS make a decent food for quite a while, a week or more, before you move up to the finest flake that you can get, looks like nothing more than powder.
The basic idea is to feed something small enough for the fish to eat it that they can recognize as possible food. Things that move look more like food to something that young than any pellet or flake ever will.
