3 pair of Discu breeding

I have one set of baby discus 2 1/2 weeks old. One set of eggs hatching tonight and another set tomorrow. I had no intentions of breeding Discu!!! I guess I will have to sell pairs. it is work raising the babies and their food.

I add r/o water as the water evaporates and when the gravel gets dirty I clean it and add r/o. I feed mainly frozen bloodworms and some dry food.

Yea the parents take very good care of them right now i have eggs but the new dad as soon as they were free swimming n feeding off there slime coat he ate them which was sad so hopefully this spawning they will last longer :) I think raising discus fish is the easiest fish to raise! i raised angels an that was way more work then discus. I dont use R/O water just tap water an they are just thriving also I feed frozen bloodworms an other frozen foods along with brineshirp flakes they are little piggys arnt they :)

Okay thanks for that because I thought 50% daily was outrageous.

depends on the size of tank 50% a day in a 10 gallon wouldn't be to bad but it is ALOT of work if ur a real busy person as it is but once the tank hits 75 gallons 55 gallon its a bit of a pain in the ass but if you really want those fish in the best condition ever and growing extremely extremely fast it would help alot :)

pairs of breeding discus

I now have two batches of baby fry Discus. I did not intend to breed but . I am thinking I might need to sell the pairs and just keep younger ones. Anyone interested in purchasing some breeding pairs? Or how do I stop them from breeding. Seguin , Tx. jonelle 830 822 5218

Best of luck trying to place some Lucky you! You may want to try turning the temperature down on your tank. Warmer water will trigger them to breed. Check out the fish profiles here, and go with the lower temperature range for these fish.
