I may be late in this response, but your gold angel is the male.
I've been breeding angels for over 25 years and there is a couple of obvious ways to tell their sex.
Females are plumper in the belly region when looking at them straight on and the top of their heads have
a slight curve from nose to top fin.
Males are slimmer and after several month of age the male has a typical cichlid head hump.
When they pair off the male tends to be the more aggressive with the female following him around. She will usually attack smaller fish or less aggressive fish. They like a large leaf or a piece of slate in a back corner leaning upright against the glass.
