hi,im new here too so i would love to start helping :D . the tank you should set up should be cycled and should have no flaw. it should be at least 30 gallons size if they are large and it should have a wide space and a area for shelter. pH should range from 6.0 to 7.5. dH should range from 4-15. the temp should be from 75 to 80. in some fish, certain temps get a fishes hormones running, you could try to breed an easy fish in the tank and then placing your fish there, it could help them with there hormones. these fish are some of the harder of chichlids to breed, so you could try to place your male with several femails to raise your chances of breeding. good luck!

Thanks for the info. The only reason I'm breeding my severums is the female keeps laying eggs BUT I have a wedge shape overflow tank and she keeps laying on the filter wall, so the male comes along and trys to fertilize the eggs, his is then sucked up the overflow. So then I added a Nice piece of slate on the othere side of the tank :D but no, she messed with it for 2-3 days, layed eggs on the wall :( :( I never wanted to breed these 2 but hay why not at leased the 3 of use are busy
Your numbers are kindof vag , I was hopping for info on how to promote breeding, and the raising of the fry
